WATCH OUT! (Conclusion)
Malachi 3:1 “Watch out! I’m sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly, the LORD you are looking for will come to his Temple. He is the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Watch out! He is coming!” says the LORD of the Heavenly Armies.
Let us hear the conclusion of the matter. God is a God of seasons, and each season is heralded by certain preparations. Before Jesus came, God sent His messenger, John the Baptist, to prepare the way. But because the people were not alert, they missed the messenger, and thereafter missed The Message.
The Jews had waited for centuries to receive the Messiah. They had gathered all the information and concluded that He would be born in Bethlehem. You can see all that from the experts who spoke to Herod the day Jesus was born. Yet in all their obsession with facts and names, they actually missed His coming.
Anytime God is about to do something major in your life, He will align certain people, certain messages, certain signs and even certain happenings in your life. If you don’t watch out, you will see these happenings as coincidence or mere chance. By missing the signs, you will miss the Lord who was to come AFTER the sign.
Mark 9:12 He said to them, “Elijah does indeed come first, and restores all things. And why is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be despised? 13 But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”
Elijah indeed came, but to the Jews, John was just another crazy man dressed in a funny way, eating a strange diet and preaching a weird message. Because they didn’t embrace the messenger, they couldn’t embrace The Messiah.
Watch out for who/what God has sent to prepare the way for Him to come.
Prayer:- Oh Lord, may we discern the signs that herald your visitation in our lives. *Mark 13:33* _Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come._
